| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: Rating : - It's great! History: I have been using it for a year and first tried it when I was 23. I grew up using tampons a lot because I was a swimmer from grade school through college, but primarily pads because I was afraid of TSS.
Yes, as some reviewers (or, rather, at least one) have/has mentioned, it's tricky to figure out a way to insert it properly sometimes. But, on the other hand, I'm actually less squeamish about dealing with it than I am about inserting an OB no-applicator tampon, even though this is larger. I've found that the method they specify in the pamphlet works fine for me. As for taking it out: I tug on the stem until I can insert my finger and push on the side of the cup to unseal it (not very far at all, this doesn't sit all that high), and THEN pull it out. Doesn't hurt at all.
The stem did bother me (as in minor levels of pain) when I first used it, but then I trimmed most of it off and I don't notice it at all when I'm using it. I have used it while swimming and running and not had any leakage. In fact, I've only once had leakage issues when I left it in for too long on a heavy flow day, which I've learned to associate with heavy cramps and not done it again.
This is better than pads because it doesn't smell bad, doesn't leak as easily, and doesn't make you feel like you're wearing a diaper. It's better than tampons because you don't have to worry about a string, it won't leak if you have it sealed properly and avoid leaving it in for more than 12 hours (unless you're very unlucky and get over the specified volume in that time period), and isn't risky for TSS. + See Full Customer Review | |
