I have purchased three of these adapters and have had to return them all. Same problem - all have worked upon initial hook-up. One failed within 24 hours - the next a few days later and the last one prevailed for about 10 days. They simply quit working.

The manufacturer goes to great lengths detailing how the wiring has been reinforced - but it's at the WRONG connection. These adapters have a notorious problem of failing where the wiring connects to the adapter housing NOT where the wiring plugs into the laptop.

The "one size fits all" approach to marketing this item didn't work for me - three times. Avoid this purchase if you have an Inspiron 8200.
