Some memory assemblers choose to accept a certain "defect rate" because it's cheaper to deal with returns than to test every part they sell. I installed this memory module using an anti-static wrist strap properly grounded, thus eliminating any possible static electricity discharge that may damage the memory module. So far I have had no system problems due to this module, and since it's a mac with OS X, there are few problems in any case.
